National Chess Day Festival (Norfolk)

Celebrate National Chess Day with Hampton Roads Chess Association and MacArthur Center on October 14th!
Enjoy chess lessons, casual games, puzzles, coloring contests, and our GIANT chess set — all for FREE! We also have two tournaments available with entry fees (a main event and a blitz event) and PRIZES! All proceeds from this event will benefit our Joan H. Schlich Memorial Scholarship to help provide financial aid for members seeking chess classes and events in the community.
Whether you want to come see what all the chess hype is about or you are ready to take on a challenge, we have something for you! Kids and adults are welcome! Pre-registration for tournament events is requested, but the event is open from 11am-7pm. Come “check” us out!
