Hampton Roads Bookstore Crawl (Norfolk)

ome join REACH and the Big Free Bookstore for the Hampton Roads Book Crawl! Bookstores across Hampton Roads are teaming up to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) with a special Hampton Roads Bookstore Crawl designed for book enthusiasts of all ages! This year’s #hrvalovesindiebookstores crawl is a collaboration among fifteen local independent booksellers, inviting book lovers to embark on a week-long adventure of exploring as many bookstores as possible.

Hosted by Eleanor’s Norfolk, the crawl takes place from April 19-27, leading up to Independent Bookstore Day, which is celebrated nationwide on the last Saturday of April. Each participating store will host its own unique events on IBD and throughout the preceding week.

Here’s how it works: Upon arriving at their first bookstore of the week, participants will receive a passport listing all the participating locations along with their addresses and operating hours. From there, they can begin their journey, collecting stamps from each store visited, snapping selfies, and sharing their experiences on social media using the hashtag #hrvalovesindiebookstores. Once they’ve completed their bookstore tour, they simply leave their stamped passport at the last store they visit.

The raffle prize winner will be drawn the following week, with the lucky winner being contacted promptly the next day. Join us for a week of literary exploration and celebration!
