Where: Chrysler Museum, Wells Theatre, and online

When:

  • Saturday, February 26, Chrysler Museum of Art Kaufman Theatre 1 pm – 2 pm Hybrid (Live/Virtual) – a cameo performance during Reckoning our History: The Untold Story of YWCA South Hampton Roads
  • Friday, March 11th Wells Theatre 3 pm – 5 pm Hybrid (Live/Virtual) – (a cameo performance during ImmortALL Youth Poetry Program) 

Description: OTU-The Healing Quilt creatively stitches together true stories exploring Racism in Hampton Roads – an interactive cultural arts experience.

Storytelling, poetry, dance and music written and performed by teens and adults from Teens With a Purpose – The Youth Movement with dance performance and choreography by Rita Cohen Founder, Tidewater African Cultural Alliance. This cultural arts experience bravely & creatively explores racism in Hampton Roads and invites the virtual audiences to write response poems, dance and sing along. OTU – The Healing Quilt (OTU mean ONE in the Igbo language of Nigeria) is funded in part by Hampton Roads Community Foundation & Virginia Humanities
