History in the Making Youth Program at Fort Monroe Visitor & Education Center (Hampton)

June 27 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join experts from Fort Monroe for a hands-on, skill building workshop series, exploring the various ways we study and engage with the past.

2025 – 2026 Theme: Living History

How do we know how people in the past lived? Living history often deepens our understanding of the past through physically embodying those conditions and practicing those skills.

Workshop 4: Putting It All Together

This session we put together everything we have learned so far, to try our hands at storytelling and interpretation.

What We’ll Do

  • Examine primary sources from Fort Monroe’s history
  • Craft our own interpretations and stories.
  • Meet living historians and participate in interactive activities
