DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, the MacArthur Center will be closing later this year. Our lease will be up on June 27. So we will be in the process of moving almost everything into storage until we can find a new location. This website and our monthly newsletters will continue to provide information for you as time goes on. Beginning in May you will see some of our displays being taken down and removed. \nHowever\, we are not going to disappear! We are establishing a small store and a few displays at a temporary location until we can find a more permanent place. So you can still come and visit us beginning on July 1st in Virginia Beach! \nHours of Operation\nWe will remain open to the public on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays\, from 12-6 PM\, so you can watch while the Museum is being developed. We will continue to have trains running on several different layouts. Admission is free. \nThe Museum Store is now open. We currently have brand items like T-shirts\, sweatshirts\, hoodies\, mugs and water bottles. We are current stocking shelves with pre-owned N scale railcars and locomotives\, which we can test before you buy. A book written by our own historian Warren Leister on The Birth of Virginia Beach is also for sale. We are slowly adding more items. We can order almost any model railroad gear\, scenery or train set in any gauge that you want. All proceeds over expenses go back into the Museum. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Weekend On Your Wheels Youth Bike Race Series. The races will be held at New Quarter Park on select Sundays through May. The youth mountain bike trail offers multiple courses for different abilities. The short course is designed for kids 6 and under who ride push and balance bikes\, as well as for elementary/novice (no training wheels) riders. The medium course is designed for elementary/intermediate riders\, usually in middle school or ages 11-14. The long course is designed for high school riders ages 14-17. Parents must be present\, and helmets are required.Children will be separated by skill level. If this is your child’s first race\, we recommend coming to the Pre-Race date to preview the courses and receive assistance from staff. No registration required for the Pre-Race.The fee also includes a number plate.SKILL LEVELPush Bike – 0.2 mi – Balance/tri bike; parents may go on the course with the rider\, including the rail and a grassy field.6 & Under – 0.4 mi – 16-inch wheel bikes\, usually coaster brakes; parents may go on the course with the rider\, trail\, and grassy field.Elementary Beginner – 0.4 mi – 16-20 inch wheel BMX or MTB\, able to ride independently\, proficient in coaster and hand brakes if possible. SUMMARY:Norfolk Tides vs Durham (Norfolk)
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 season will be Norfolk’s 56th in the International League and 57th overall at the Triple-A level (Triple-A East in 2021). It will also be the 33rd year of baseball at Harbor Park. The schedule features 39 weekend games on Friday\, Saturday or Sunday. Gameday promotions for the 2026 season will be announced throughout the offseason. The Tides will have an All-Star break from July 13 – 16\, followed by a three-game series at Nashville. In all\, the Tides will have 12 homestands that total 75 home games. There will be the one three-game homestand to start the season\, 10 six-game series and a 12-game homestand. The 12-game homestand will be completed in 13 days from August 11th – 23rd. The Tides play against 10 different teams in 2026\, with eight of them visiting Harbor Park. Five will visit multiple times. \nFans can purchase 2026 ticketing plans\, including season tickets by reaching 757-622-2222. 2025 Individual game tickets are currently available online. Fans should follow the Tides on social media and at norfolktides.com for the most up-to-date information. Single game tickets start as low as $16. The Tides also offer special discounts to students through high school\, active military with ID and senior citizens (60 & over). These special discounts are available in Reserved sections and can be purchased for $14 in advance.
