Yorktown Workboat Races Preview at Watermen’s Museum (Yorktown)

Stop by the Watermen’s Museum to get a preview of the fun that is in store for the Yorktown Workboat Races!
Several of the participating workboats will be docked at the Watermen’s Museum. Come see these Chesapeake Bay beauties and learn about life as a watermen and the history of the seafood industry in the area.
On Sunday, June 1, watch as competitors race small, medium, and large workboats along the York River! The race begins at the Riverwalk Landing Fishing Pier and ends at the Coleman Bridge. Be sure to stick around for the last race of the day — the King of the Bay Race — featuring big workboats.
On the Docket:
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Displays and demonstrations of the Chesapeake Bay Deadrise and working in the seafood industry.
Children’s activities.
Exhibits regarding the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.
Dock open to view the workboats.
