August 14 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free
Douglas MacArthur served as US Army Chief of Staff from 1930-1935. This service coincided with the Great Depression. Despite his personal opposition to the New Deal, MacArthur was ultimately instrumental in the development of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), a government work relief program that provided work, shelter, and clothing for men ages 17–28.

Join MacArthur Memorial historians Jim Zobel and Amanda Williams for a virtual discussion of MacArthur and the CCC on August 14th, 2024, at 12PM ET. The discussion will be streamed live on the Memorial’s Facebook pag
