The Cock Island Race (Portsmouth)

The Race to Cock Island is a long standing Portsmouth tradition. A sailing regatta for up to 100 boats sponsored by the Portsmouth Boat Club. Stop by the Portsmouth Welcome Center to see the famed Hanbury Cup.
From the north end of the Portsmouth Seawall, spectators can watch the start and finish of the race. If you’re interested in racing, you must register before June 10. Race fee is $100. The start/finish line will be on the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River, just off the Portsmouth Seawall
