Wrecking the Gilded Age: A Short History of the First Luxury Liners

Travel in the late 19th and early 20th centuries relied heavily on steam engines. Perhaps one of the most well-known is the steamship. Steamships carried passengers across oceans to exotic locations and did so in luxury. These early liners were the height of luxury travel, but what happened to them? This talk takes a look at the surprisingly tragic and slightly bloody history of the first luxury liners.
