Community Festival (Suffolk)

June 13 @ 10:00 am - June 14 @ 4:00 pm

The Tuskegee Airmen are one of the most notable squadrons in the U.S. They were in fact, the first all-African-American Air Force squadron in World War II. That’s when they formed the 332nd fighter group of the United States Army Air Forces, also known as the Red Tails.

This exhibit aims to bring their story of overcoming adversity to life through an immersive experience. The educational showing will be both inside and out of a 53-foot semi-trailer, featuring memorabilia, wartime artifacts, historic archival images and on-site experts.

Sheriff David Miles Suffolk Virginia Sheriff’s Office will host the I.Dent-A-Kid Station along with sharing other valuable community resources. Your partnership helps us create a stronger, safer community for all!
“We’re going to have food trucks, we’re going to have things for the kids to do,” he said. One year, we had a marching band. And so we’ve had it every year since I’ve been here. It is our way to invite the community and not just to get them to come to our church, but [also] just to be able to tell the community thank you.

We can’t wait to see you as we honor history, celebrate freedom, and unite the community!
