A great, free family event this weekend at The Hermitage Museum!
Where: Hermitage Museum & Gardens 7637 North Shore Road Norfolk, VA 23505
When: Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 11am-3pm (rain or shine!)
Cost: Free admission, donations are welcome
Description: All ages are welcome for this free event at the Hermitage Museum’s Visual Art School in conjunction with the Roberto Lugo: Pottery with Purpose exhibition!
  • A unique, timed pottery competition on our in-house ceramic wheels
  • Ceramic artists and organizations including: 757 Makerspace, Luis Pacheco and Neobrutal Studio, and the Ceramic Designers Association
  • An engaging exploration of ceramics as an artistic form through conversations with artist Amber Pierce & Richard Nickel (Associate Professor at Old Dominion University) w/ a live audience Q&A
  • A one-of-a-kind Roberto Lugo inspired magnet activity you can design and take home
  • Kids activities and scavenger hunts
  • Guided tours of the Hermitage Museum and the Sloane Collection
  • Food for purchase from Cast Iron Catering Food Truck
  • Drinks for purchase from our cash/credit bar
