Description: Pandemic-related losses have impacted many children and families across the country. For every four COVID-19 deaths, one child is left behind without a mother, father, or grandparent who is responsible for their nurturance and well-being. Children struggle to understand loss and the complexities of grief, and our collective community is feeling their sadness. This webinar will help us explore loss, understand grief, and develop the support that children need while processing their experiences, recognizing their strengths, and honing positive coping skills.

Presenter:  Jeané Liburd MA, CCLS, is a certified child life specialist with a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy, who has trained extensively in play therapy. She has provided services for children and families for over 15 years in various settings including hospitals, pediatric hospice, and community programs. The focus of her work is supporting children and families who have experienced illness, grief and loss.
