Date Night Idea: Sharks and Shandies Museum Mixer at the Virginia Living Museum

Where: The Virginia Living Museum, 524 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601

When: Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 5:30-8:30pm 

Description: The Virginia Living Museum introduces their Museum Mixers Series – an adults-only program. Guests are asked to don their Hawaiian shirts and beachwear for the first mixer, Sharks and Shandies on Thursday, August 1. The mixer is from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with the last drink poured at 8:00 p.m. During this after-hours mixer, VLM invites adults 21 and up to enjoy refreshing Shandies from local breweries, delicious food selections from Wild Side Café and take in some beach vibes with live music. 

During the mixer, visitors can explore SHARK ZONE, the museum’s newest changing exhibit, and other indoor exhibits. There will also be activities such as learning how to make shark origami, making a shark tooth necklace and playing games including Jenga and Cornhole.

Cost: Tickets are $10 for VLM members, $15 for non-members and include four tasting tickets. (Designated Driver discount is $2 and does not include tasting tickets.) All prices and more information are available at https://thevlm.org/education/adultsfamilies/adults 

The museum notes that Shandy tastings are available in the ticket prices, with beer available for purchase.
