Upcoming opportunities for the kids to test out their fishing skills!

FISHING DAY FOR KIDS - FREE!
Where: East Ocean View Community Center, Norfolk VA 
When: Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 10am-3pm 
Cost: Free
Description: Bring your rod/reel, tackle, bait, sunscreen and snacks and drop your line with our new Park Rangers! Participants will learn about fish and how to fish from a pier. For kids 15 and under. Registration required.

FREE Saltwater Fishing Clinics
Where: Back Bay National Refuge, Sandpiper Rd, Virginia Beach VA
When: Thursdays, July 27 & August 3, 2017 from 9am-12pm
Cost: Free
Description: The Great Bridge Fisherman's Association will host a free saltwater fishing clinic for children age 15 and under. An adult must accompany participating children. Call (757) 301-7329 ext. 3106 to sign up.

Youth Fishing Day
Where: 
Northwest River Park 1733 Indian Creek Road Chesapeake VA 
When: 
Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9-11:30am
Description: 
Get your kids hooked on fishing at the Annual Youth Fishing Day at Northwest River Park. Youth ages 15 and younger, accompanied by an adult, are invited to try their hand at fishing along the banks of the park's freshwater lake. Fishing poles, bait and expert help will be provided by Region 7 Bass Club. Spend the day making memories with your kids. **Parents and other persons 16 years and older must have a freshwater fishing license in order to fish (licenses are NOT sold at the park). Space is limited.

Kids Fishing Clinic
Where: Sandy Bottom Nature Park, Big Bethel Road, Hampton, VA
When: Saturdays, August 12, and September 16, 2017 at 10am
Cost: $2 per child ages 3-15
Description: Learn the basics of fishing, the different types of bait and how to bait your own hook. Fishing techniques and secrets to catch a big fish will be taught. Bring your favorite fishing pole or use one of ours. An adult must accompany all children. Registration is required (deadline is 3pm the day before the event) by calling the Nature Center at (757) 825-4657
